Walk Reports : Lanarkshire’s Hillwalking & Activity Group Website

What a day, what a walk and what good company there was!!

There have been many adventures over the years with many more to come!

Not one adventure stands out amongst the Indiana Jones adventures we have had, but I am sure Indy would have enjoyed them all.

From A story in Tobermory to high tea at Balmoral; Spring at Strathpeffer, the Murder Mystery weekend in Washington (near Newcastle), Laughing through the Lairig Grhu & Trekking 22miles through Glen Tilt, going up the Clyde in a speedboat, having tea & scones out at sea & under the Forth Bridges and walking on water in Morecambe Bay are a few amongst the many memorable moments we have had!

There are many happy memories from over the near 30 years, and we will continue to make many more as we have a great bunch of adventurers ready to Take the High Road through the Bonnie Blooming Heather!

As we get ready to head back out, the next walk report will be written by you, not literally of course, you will not know it, but your company, your smile and your laughs will add the colour, the text, the narrative that I may write about the day you came along on another Ramblin Midgies Adventure!

And if you are reading this just now, you have started on that adventure, so welcome and I will see you soon!

“We initially joined the Ramblin Midgies to after  being invited by my work colleague  and at that point she was the only person that I knew. It was with a great deal of worry and trepidation that we met this group of strangers. From the very beginning We were made welcome and everyone was so kind, and were aware of my husband's illness each person took it soon themselves to spend time with him allowing me some me time.

The walk was such a wonderful experience seeing places not seen before the people were so kind and caring. Since then, I have participated in many interesting walks. The Group Organiser makes every effort to make these Mystery Adventures as memorable about each place we visit.

Strangers are now friends and we support each other in  the challenges that each of us face in life.We not only go on great walks to brilliant places we  meet for social  events and have become good friends.”
