Calendar : Ramblin’ Midgies -Lanarkshire’s Hillwalking & Activities Club

There are a few great adventures to look forward to, once restrictions are relaxed.

Month & Date tbc as activities are subject to Government Restrictions, hoping for the first Sunday after the lifting of restrictions.  Day walks are held on the first Sunday of the month

Our first adventure will be Lanarkshire based as social distancing and travel restrictions may still be in place

Head to the Avon Gorge / Clyde Valley approx. 9 miles

Sunday 09.30 meet at Strathclyde Park  (water sports centre)

This is Raymond’s back garden, and hopefully he would lead this for, ‘I will need to ask him’

Douglas Water is our second destination

Historical walk with spectacular views of Tinto and surrounding area

Approx 8 miles

A self-drive activity – meeting up at an arranged point

Stirling & Dunblane for the third instalment

Rich in history & culture from the Wallace Monument to Stirling University & Dunblane Cathedral

At the moment, it is ‘let the train take the strain’  train from both Hamilton & Coatbridge

Dunblane & Doune

Second leg of this near triangular walk – taking in a classic riverside walk, a Castle & Auld Kirkyard

Again, it is train at the moment

Perth City & surrounding views of the River Tay & towards Dundee

It is amazing how the train can accommodate us for this trip.

‘I’m sure we can find a ‘wetherspoons’ to be added to Ian’s list’

Fife Coastal Path, hopefully for our First Walk in Jan 2022

Burntisland & beyond

A truly classic coastal walk were the pace is slow as we meander along the beach and paths thinking of nothing as you gaze across the Forth Estuary.

February 2022

Meikle Bin & the Campsies for February’s Winter Wonderland

Here is what you need to know, there is always the bit when you need to know something lol

You book in the week before by using text, FB, Messenger, the Contact Page, once you have booked on, you have committed yourself to the activity. Once you are sure you want to go and have contacted auld Norberto, you then transfer the day’s activity money. This can be to pay for your seat on the minibus / or other arranged form of transport and /or entrance fee.

Unfortunately, coach companies and other parties like to be paid the agreed amount regardless you turn up or not, sorry, it is the way of the world. SO, the BIG MESSAGE IS – ‘don’t book unless you are coming’ and if you fancy along lie in bed that morning and do not want to go, your seat / coach money will be used for the coach / activity costs, you cannot have it back sorry, it’s gone!!!
